If you should have at least one herb at home, then motherwort. It belongs to broad-spectrum herbs and you can use it all year round. Definitely keep a pinch of motherwort or thyme in stock.

The effects of motherwort:

Motherwort has miraculous effects on mental well-being. Those who drink a cup of motherwort tea in the morning instead of coffee will quickly feel its beneficial effects - mental freshness, a pleasant feeling in the stomach, morning cough will not appear and a general feeling of well-being will occur.

If a pillow is made from dried plants, motherwort, yarrow, chamomile, collected on a sunny day, and at the same time tea from these herbs is drunk, it helps with neuralgia of the trigeminal nerve.

Many restless and nervous children had sound sleep again after a bath in motherwort tea. But even nervously irritated or depressed adults feel healthy in a short time after such baths.

It dissolves mucus and promotes its expectoration. For diseases of the respiratory tract, motherwort together with plantain is an old proven remedy.

Motherwort and plantain tea with lemon helps with bronchitis, asthma and whooping cough. It is prepared fresh 4 to 5 times a day. This tea works safely even when there is a risk of pneumonia, in which case it is drunk in sips every hour.

It also reduces painful smooth muscle spasms. For stomach cramps and during menstruation, as well as abdominal cramps, we can recommend motherwort externally and internally. Two cups of tea are drunk daily.

Motherwort oil can also be prepared, it is used for paralysis, stroke, multiple sclerosis, muscle wasting, rheumatism and sprains.

The herb is not recommended during pregnancy and you should always consult your doctor about its use. 

But it is recommended after childbirth, it supports the production of breast milk.
